Beach and Swimming
Scott’s Ridge Swim Area provides public access for swimming and is located on the northwest side of Lake Conroe. This location is approximately 2 miles north of FM 1097 on Scott’s Ridge Road. The drive to Scott’s Ridge Swim Area will bring you across the well-known FM 1097 bridge. This mile-long bridge will allow you to see a panoramic view of Lake Conroe. On a beautiful sunny day, you will be able to see the iconic Lake Conroe lighthouse in the distance. You will soon be surrounded by a forest of tall pine trees. This unique park happens to be in the Sam Houston National Forest and is run by the USDA Forest Service. The amenities at the park include 3 pavilions, picnic tables, fishing areas, parking and restrooms. The swimming area is seasonal, and it open from April through September. There is a public boat ramp that is open year-round. Please call the district office for exact dates at 936-344-6205.
